Tell us all about Bop till you Drop – Central Coast.
Bop till you Drop specialise in Disco and Karaoke Parties for kids. Whether you are looking for a birthday party, school, preschool or vacation care disco – we have you covered.
We are a mobile service that comes to you. Your entertainer will arrive with a professional P.A system with all the lasted Top 40 tracks, real microphones for the children to sing on, spectacular disco lights and lollies and tattoos as prizes.
We best describe our discos as an interactive singing and dancing show where the children get a chance to be ‘The Star’. Our aim is to make sure ALL the children are dancing, singing and most importantly having fun in a focused and structured environment.
Please rest assured you are booking an ENTERTAINER, NOT A DJ. Your entertainer will act like the host of your event to ensure the parents or teachers can sit back and relax! Each disco is structured to best suit the children at your event.
What inspired you to start up Bop till you Drop on the Central Coast?
I have been working for Bop till you Drop in Sydney since 2009 and the director of the company, Cathy, and I had had many conversations about me starting Bop on the Coast. I was quite hesitant at first. Starting your own business is scary – so many what ifs and buts. So many thoughts crossed my mind!
I sat on it for a while, did my research, and spoke to many friends and family about it. I really weighed up all my options. It was after a conversation with my mum that I had a light bulb moment and I said to myself – believe in yourself and just go for it! And that’s exactly what I did.
I started Bop till you Drop Central Coast in March 2016 and could not be happier with the positive response so far.
Look out Central Coast – Bop till you Drop has arrived!
Tell us about the process of opening your business.
Having worked behind the scenes at BTYD in Sydney for a few years, the process of starting on my own seemed quite a natural process as I had the knowledge of the business and I was definitely in the right headspace. Once I had purchased all the equipment I required to do the parties, I was itching to book my first event and get out there and start spreading the word!
How does your business help or cater to mums and/or their families?
Children only get one birthday a year and look forward to this day for a long time. So when that birthday child say to me “this was the best birthday party ever!” I know I have done the best job and I love that I get to be part of their special day. As a mum if your child is happy, you are happy, and that is my aim to create a memory the child and mum remember forever.
What do you feel makes your products, services or offerings different from others?
Bop till you Drop specialise in Disco Karaoke Parties for kids. Our point of difference is that we are not a DJ that sits downs and plays music, we are up dancing, singing and interacting with the kids the whole time which is appealing to parents/teachers as the children are engaged the entire duration of the disco.
Describe how you feel when a customer books an event?
I feel ecstatic when I am booking in an event! From locking it in over the phone or email to meeting them at the disco, the whole process is exciting!! Getting referrals from other discos I have done always makes me smile a little bigger!
What’s something about your business that people may not know?
People may not know that Bop till you Drop cater for schools, preschools, vacation cares, christenings etc. No event is too big or small!
What are you most proud of in your business journey so far?
I am most proud of the flow on effect off other discos. When I get a phone call and they say I saw you are so and so’s party, you were awesome, my daughter or son would love you at their party – that right there is a very proud moment! Word of mouth is the best advertisement out there.
What do you love most about your business?
I love the children. All the children make my job a joy – seeing their faces while they are singing on the microphones and breaking it down on the dance floor. The interaction I have with each customer creates a real personable experience that I pride my business on.
What is your dream for the future of Bop till you Drop Central Coast?
My vision for Bop till you Drop Central Coast is to employ additional entertainers who I will hand pick and train so I expand my brand further.
What is your favourite thing to do when you get some alone time?
My favourite thing to do in my alone time is to put my headphones in and play Beyoncé really loud while I go for a walk!
